About Du store Alpakka
Du Store Alpakka was founded in 1999 by Kari Hestnes and Per Svendsen, who were among the first in Norway to import yarn directly from Peru. The yarns are produced in Peru, often blending alpaca with wool and other natural fibres. In 2012, the brand was acquired by House of Yarn, based in Bryne near Stavanger, which continues to run it today. Du Store Alpakka is widely regarded as Norway's specialist in alpaca hand-knitting yarns.
