About Jamieson & Smith
Jamieson & Smith was founded in the 1930s by the Smith family of Berry Farm in Scalloway, Shetland, and incorporated as a company in 1951. Operating from Lerwick harbour, the firm buys raw fleece from over 700 crofters and farmers across the islands, processing it into a range of yarns from 1-ply lace weight to Aran. Their 2-ply Jumper Weight, available in more than 200 shades, is widely regarded as the gold standard for Fair Isle knitting. In 2010, the company founded Shetland Wool Week, now a major annual event for knitters worldwide.
