About Lopi
Lopi is the flagship yarn range of Ístex, an Icelandic wool producer based in Mosfellsbær. The site's history goes back to 1896, when the Álafoss wool mill was established; after it went into receivership, Ístex was founded in 1991 and today processes around 98 per cent of all Icelandic raw wool, with the company majority-owned by Icelandic sheep farmers. The Lopi yarns are spun from the distinctive dual-coated fleece of Icelandic sheep, prized for its lightness, weather resistance, and breathability.
