About Retrosaria
Retrosaria was founded in Lisbon, Portugal, in 2008 by Rosa Pomar, and is an independent yarn label dedicated to the wool of native Portuguese sheep breeds. Yarns are produced in collaboration with small mills, breeders' associations, and shepherds, with artisan small-batch lines such as Bucos and Brusca spun by hand in rural villages using traditional methods. All yarns are non-superwash, unbleached, and free from silicone softeners, with full traceability from flock to skein.
